Terms of Use

Last updated: 3 May 2026 · Effective: 3 May 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Leganote app ("the App"), published by Zhi ("we", "us", "the developer"), an independent solo developer. By downloading, installing, or using the App you agree to these Terms.

1. License

Subject to these Terms and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for non-commercial personal use, on the Apple platforms it is published for.

You may not: (a) copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense the App; (b) reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code, except where permitted by applicable law; (c) remove copyright or other proprietary notices; or (d) use the App in any unlawful way.

2. In-App Purchases

The App offers a one-time in-app purchase ("Pro") at US$5.99 or the equivalent in your local currency. Pro is a non-consumable purchase, configured for Universal Purchase across iPhone and iPad and for Family Sharing. There is no subscription and nothing auto-renews.

All purchases are processed by Apple under your Apple ID. We do not handle, store, or have access to your payment information. Refunds are issued by Apple in accordance with Apple's policies — request a refund via reportaproblem.apple.com.

3. Your content

You retain all rights to the songs, charts, annotations, and other content you create or import into the App ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership over Your Content and we do not transmit it to our servers — see the Privacy Policy for details.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any third-party content (e.g. published lead sheets, copyrighted PDFs) you import into the App.

4. iCloud and third-party services

The App stores Your Content in your own iCloud Drive container by default. iCloud sync is provided by Apple and is governed by Apple's iCloud Terms. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or data integrity of iCloud or any other Apple service.

5. Updates and availability

We may release updates to the App from time to time. We may add, change, or remove features. We will not remove a paid-for feature in a way that materially deprives Pro purchasers of what they paid for, except where required by law, by Apple, or by a third-party service the feature depends on.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall the developer be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of the App. The developer's aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for Pro (or US$5.99 if greater).

8. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may terminate or suspend your license if you materially breach these Terms.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated in the App release notes. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Contact & governing law

Questions about these Terms: zhiii0x@gmail.com.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of China (Taiwan), without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The Taipei District Court shall have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence grant you the right to bring proceedings before a local court. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
