Matcha is a small, quiet instrument — most things happen with a single tap, and the Guide walks through all of them. If something isn't working, or you just want to say something, email is the fastest way to reach us. We read every message.

Common questions
What is Matcha Studio?
One purchase that unlocks the half of Matcha that keeps what you play: Matcha Magic (four bars arranged into a whole song), Song Mode, Chord Journey, four Signature Packs, recording, and Pro Export — MIDI, audio stems and the AUv3 plugin. Playing, the eight original packs and live MIDI stay free, and you can hear the demo song and a full Magic arrangement before buying.
Is it a subscription?
No. It is a single purchase, yours forever, with no account and nothing uploaded.
How do I record a loop?
Recording is part of Studio. Once it is unlocked: press play so the drums and bass come in, then tap the red circle — it captures your next four bars. Tap it again to stop.
I bought Studio on another device / I reinstalled — how do I get it back?
Open STUDIO from the top bar and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account. There is nothing else to set up.
The plugin loads in GarageBand but makes no sound.
Two things to check. The plugin is part of Studio, so it stays silent until that is unlocked — it will say so on screen. And after buying, open Matcha itself once on the same device: the plugin reads the unlock from the app, so it needs the app to have run at least once. Look for Matcha: Chord Synth in your host's instrument list.
Where are my saved loops?
Open the library from the top-left icon on the playing screen. Loops are stored locally on your device — the pack, key and tempo are kept with each one.
How do I share what I made?
From a saved loop you can export a video with the reactive ink-wash visuals, then save it to Photos or send it anywhere — that part is free. Matcha only asks for photo-library permission at the moment you save a video. MIDI files, audio stems and whole-song exports are part of Studio.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up, no login and no cloud. Matcha works entirely on your device, and the Studio purchase is handled by Apple — it needs no account of ours.
Do my loops sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Not in this version — loops are stored on each device on its own, and cross-device sync may come in a later update. The Studio purchase does carry across your devices: tap Restore purchases on the other one.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone and iPad running iOS or iPadOS 17 and later.
Is my data private?
Yes. Matcha collects no data and has no tracking or analytics. See the
Privacy Policy for the details.
