The short version
Acro stores all data on your device. It does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information. There is no analytics, no telemetry, no third-party SDKs.
What stays on your device
- Tank, coral, and water-reading data (SwiftData / SQLite)
- Photos you add via PhotosPicker (copied into the app sandbox)
- Your unit and reminder preferences (UserDefaults)
- Daily reminder notifications, if enabled
None of this leaves the device.
What we don't collect
- No account or sign-in required
- No analytics, crash reporting, or usage telemetry
- No advertising IDs or tracking
- No contact with our servers (we don't run any)
Permissions Acro asks for
- Photo Library — only when you tap "Add photo". Acro uses PhotosPicker (PHPickerViewController), which runs out-of-process and only returns the specific items you select. Acro never enumerates your library.
- Notifications — only if you enable the daily water-testing reminder in Settings. You can revoke it any time in iOS Settings.
Data retention & deletion
Deleting a coral or a photo inside Acro removes it from the database and deletes the underlying file. Deleting the app removes all data — we cannot recover it for you because we never had it.
Children
Acro is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If we ever start collecting data, this page will be updated and a "What's new" entry will appear in the app's changelog before the change takes effect.
