Privacy Policy
SpellSynth ("the app") is developed by nonotoday ("we", "us"). This policy describes what data the app handles. The short version: we don't collect any.
What we collect
Nothing. SpellSynth does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. There is no account system. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising SDK, no tracking of any kind.
What the app does on your device
- Stores your custom word list locally, inside the app's sandbox, using Apple's standard user-defaults storage. This data never leaves your device and is deleted if you delete the app.
- Uses Apple's built-in speech synthesiser (
AVSpeechSynthesizer) to pronounce custom words that aren't in the bundled voice library. This is an on-device API; no audio is uploaded or recorded. - When loaded as an AUv3 audio unit extension inside a host app (GarageBand, Logic, AUM, etc.), the extension receives MIDI events from the host and renders audio back to the host. No data leaves the device.
Network access
The app does not make any network requests. It works fully offline after installation.
Permissions
The app does not request microphone, camera, location, contacts, photos, notifications, or any other system permissions.
Children's privacy
SpellSynth is designed to be safe for children (rated 4+ in the App Store). Because the app collects no data at all, it complies with COPPA and the App Store Kids Category requirements by virtue of simply not handling any personal information.
Third-party services
None. The app does not integrate with any third-party SDKs.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will appear at this URL with a new "last updated" date.
