How do I export a loop?
Tap the share icon in the top bar, choose a length (1, 2, or 4 bars), and render. The bounce is stereo and renders exactly what you're hearing — custom kits and imported samples included. WAV export is part of Orbeat Pro.
How many lanes can I have?
The circle starts with six lanes and grows to twelve. Tap + beside the lane strip to add one; past six, the mandala opens a second page of rings in its own color set and you flip between pages with the corner chevrons. The first six lanes are free — growing the circle is part of Orbeat Pro.
Can I use my own sounds?
Yes. Tap + in the kit bar to make a custom kit, then set any lane to an audio file of your own — WAV, AIFF, mp3, up to 10 seconds. It plays once, at its original pitch, in stereo, and takes a clean path to the output (no kit saturation or bit-crush on top of it). Lanes you don't reassign keep their built-in synth voice, so you can mix your samples with Orbeat's own drums. Your first custom kit is free; more of them come with Pro.
Can I play in time with other apps or another device?
Yes — Orbeat speaks Ableton Link, and it's free for everyone. Put the devices on the same Wi-Fi, then pick Ableton Link under Settings → MIDI → Sync: tempo and the bar line are shared with every Link app in the room. The sync guide walks through it.
I bought Pro — how do I restore it on a new device?
Open Settings (the gear icon) and tap Restore Purchases. Orbeat Pro is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple ID, so it restores for free on any device signed in to the same account.
Where are my saved beats stored?
On your device, in the app's own storage — projects, custom kits, and any audio you've imported. Orbeat keeps no account and uploads nothing: your beats never leave your iPhone or iPad unless you export and share them yourself.
Can I use Orbeat in GarageBand, AUM, or Logic?
Yes. Orbeat ships an Audio Unit (AUv3) instrument with MIDI in & out, so it runs inside any AUv3 host on iPhone and iPad — sequence other instruments from it, or play its lanes from the host's piano roll. The plug-in carries the same circle as the app, up to twelve lanes, with your custom kits and imported samples. Buy Pro once and it unlocks in the plug-in too.
Can I play Orbeat from a MIDI controller, or sync it to my gear?
Yes — note input is always on (GM drum notes, with velocity), and the standalone app can follow an external MIDI clock or an Ableton Link session. See the MIDI & sync guide for the note map, channel setting, and both sync walkthroughs.
