Privacy

Effective May 18, 2026
The short version. Curve stores your cat's health log on your device. We don't operate a server, don't run analytics, and don't share your data with anyone. If you turn on iCloud, your data syncs through your own Apple account — we never see it.

1. Who we are

This policy describes how the Curve mobile app ("Curve", "we") handles information when you use it. Contact us at zhiii0x@gmail.com.

2. What data Curve handles

Curve is a local-first health journal. The information you log — your cat's blood glucose readings, insulin doses, weight, food, medication, lab values, conditions, and notes — is stored on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We don't operate a server, so this information never reaches us.

3. iCloud sync (optional)

If you enable iCloud sync, your log syncs between your own devices through Apple's CloudKit, using your private iCloud database. The data stays inside your Apple account; Curve does not have access to it.

4. Camera (optional, on-demand)

When you tap the barcode-scan button in the food picker, Curve uses the camera to read the EAN/UPC code printed on the package. The camera is only active while that scanner is open, no images or video are recorded, and no camera data ever leaves your device. You can revoke camera access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.

5. Open Food Facts (only on barcode scan)

After a successful barcode scan (or if you type a barcode by hand), Curve sends the scanned EAN/UPC number to Open Food Facts to look up nutritional information. No personal data is sent — just the barcode number. Their privacy policy applies to their service.

6. In-app purchases

Purchases are handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit framework. Curve never sees your payment method, name, or billing address. Apple's privacy policy applies to purchase data.

7. Notifications

If you grant notification permission, Curve schedules local reminders (insulin shots, curve session readings, etc.). All scheduling happens on your device. We do not send remote push notifications.

8. Analytics and tracking

Curve does not include analytics SDKs, crash reporters, advertising identifiers, or any third-party trackers. We do not measure how you use the app.

9. Children's privacy

Curve is rated 4+ but is intended for adults caring for their pet. We do not knowingly collect any data, and there is no account system.

10. Your control over data

You can delete every piece of data in Curve at any time via Settings → Reset everything. If you uninstall the app, on-device data is removed by iOS along with it. If you used iCloud sync, you can additionally delete the Curve data from iCloud → Manage Storage on any of your devices.

11. Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we'll update the effective date above and, for changes affecting existing users, surface a notice in the app on next launch.
