What languages does OCR support?: Pocketext supports English, Traditional Chinese (繁體中文), and Japanese (日本語) for both OCR recognition and the user interface.
Does Pocketext require an internet connection?: No. All OCR processing happens 100% on your device. Internet is only needed if you enable optional iCloud sync.
Is there a subscription?: No. Pocketext is a one-time purchase with no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. Every feature is included.
Where are my documents stored?: Documents are stored locally in the app's sandboxed container. If you enable iCloud sync, they also sync to your personal iCloud account — we never have access to your data.
Can I import PDF files?: Yes. Pocketext supports PDF, JPEG, PNG, HEIC, and TIFF. You can drag and drop files or import entire folders.
How do I search across all my documents?: Use the search bar in the main window, or press Cmd+Shift+Space for menu bar quick search from anywhere. Advanced syntax like category:receipt and date:2024-03 is supported.
