Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 April 2026

SoundMess Lab is an offline sound-measurement application for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains the data practices of the SoundMess Lab app. The short version: SoundMess Lab does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.

1. Data the app collects

None. SoundMess Lab does not create an account, does not contact any server owned or operated by us, and does not include any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDK. We do not receive your measurements, recordings, device identifiers, location, contacts, or any other personal data.

2. Microphone access

SoundMess Lab requests access to your device microphone to compute sound-level and spectrum measurements in real time. Microphone audio is processed locally on your device and is never recorded or transmitted unless you explicitly tap the Record button. When you record, the resulting WAV file is written into the app's private sandbox on the device; it is not uploaded anywhere. You can delete recordings at any time from the Recordings list.

3. Data stored on your device

SoundMess Lab stores the following on your device only:

These files live inside the SoundMess Lab app sandbox and are removed when you delete the app. They are never transmitted off-device by SoundMess Lab.

4. Purchases

The in-app purchase (SoundMess Lab Pro Lifetime, a one-time non-consumable) is processed entirely by Apple via the App Store / StoreKit. SoundMess Lab receives from Apple only a verified entitlement token indicating that you have unlocked Pro; we do not receive or store your name, email, payment method, or any other billing information. For Apple's handling of payment data, see Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Children

SoundMess Lab is rated for general audiences and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

6. Third-party services

SoundMess Lab does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or social-sharing service. The app uses only Apple's own frameworks (AVFoundation, StoreKit, App Intents, and so on).

7. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page and — where appropriate — note the change in the app's release notes.
