KpopLike ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information.
1. Information KpopLike Handles
KpopLike does not require an account and we do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number. The app handles the following information to provide its features:
- Photos you take or select for face matching or beauty analysis.
- App preferences and progress, such as your collection, selected idols, streak, and notification settings.
- Technical and advertising data processed by Google Mobile Ads, as described below.
2. Camera & Photo Library Access
KpopLike requests camera or photo-library access only when you choose to take or select a photo. These photos are:
- Processed entirely on your device using on-device machine learning.
- Never uploaded to any server or cloud service.
- Held temporarily while analysis or result creation is in progress, then released by the app.
If you choose to export or share a result, the app creates the requested image or video on your device and sends it only to the destination you select through the system share interface.
3. Face Data
The app uses on-device facial analysis to compare your face with K-pop idol reference images. Face detection, feature-vector computation, and similarity matching happen locally on your iPhone or Android device. We do not receive or store your photos, face data, or face embeddings on our servers.
4. Local App Data and Notifications
Your collection, selected idols, streak, app preferences, and notification schedule are stored locally on your device. Notifications are scheduled by the app on your device when you enable them. You can disable notifications in the app or in system settings.
5. Network Requests and Third-Party Services
KpopLike downloads a public K-pop news feed from our GitHub Pages site. Like any ordinary web request, the hosting provider may receive technical request information such as your IP address, browser or app user agent, and request time.
KpopLike uses Google Mobile Ads SDK to display ads. The Android version also uses Google's User Messaging Platform to manage consent choices. Depending on your platform, region, device settings, consent choices, and the type of ad served, Google may automatically collect or share information including:
- IP address, which may be used to estimate general location.
- User interactions with the app and advertisements.
- Diagnostic information related to app and SDK performance.
- Device and account identifiers, including the Android advertising identifier when available.
Google states that this data is encrypted in transit. For details about Google's processing, see Google's Privacy Policy and Google Mobile Ads data disclosure for Android. Where required on Android, the app presents Google's consent form before requesting ads. Android users can revisit applicable advertising choices through the app's More > Ad Privacy option when it is available.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your photos or face data. Information may be processed by Google for advertising as described above, by GitHub Pages when the news feed or this website is requested, or by a service you explicitly select when you share an exported result.
7. Children's Privacy
KpopLike is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service used by the app, please contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
8. Data Retention
Local preferences and progress remain on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Exported images and videos remain in the location you selected until you delete them. Retention by Google or a sharing destination is governed by that provider's policy.
9. Your Choices
You can revoke camera, photo-library, and notification access in system settings; clear local app data by clearing storage or uninstalling the app; change device-level advertising settings; and, where required, reopen the advertising privacy form from within the app.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
